Salee - Rooftops - Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Some of the sets I worked on for Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.

A gargantuan multi-team effort by some of the most amazing folks I've ever met. The work I'm showcasing here is the result of so many minds and hands crafting a world together, it's impossible to credit everyone. (Go watch the credits of the show!)
I will however give a special shoutout to our incredible VAD team from Happy Mushroom, as well as the wonderful people we worked with on the Lucasfilm and ILM side. Everybody was incredibly talented and kind.

My contributions were mostly focused around 3D environment work, building sets, assets, and materials, and a few lighting passes across different sets. If you have any questions about what areas and pieces I worked on specifically, feel free to reach out directly and I'd be happy to dive into the details!

What is VAD work?
The Virtual Art Department is the team that worked to develop virtual set extensions for the show. Using concept, previz, and guidance from the showrunners, we created the Unreal Engine environments for display on the virtual volume. It's an evolving process that exists somewhere between previs and final picture. We worked closely with the showrunners and other directors to find the final vision of each set, often swapping through designs, lighting setups, materials, layouts, etc. throughout the process. We would take the sets most of the way there, then pass them off to be finalized through the pipeline at ILM.

The shots displayed here showcase the final product of these efforts.
